Portrait of your's truly, with a face impossible to describe. Due to hideousness or unspeakable beauty? No one knows...

This is me!

Background

At my core, I'm an inquisitive analyzer who wants to help people. I have worked in various roles, including Mechanical Engineer, Software Consultant, and Project Implementation Manager, where I focused on solving problems through an iterative approach. To identify the root cause of the issue, I had to investigate and ask the right questions while keeping in mind the needs of the users and stakeholders. Coincidentally, all my past work mirrored Design Thinking in one way or another and uniquely prepared me for where I am today.

As I pursued my Master's degree in Cognitive Science, I discovered my passion for understanding people - their motivations, challenges, and reasons behind their actions. I am particularly drawn to solving complex problems affecting vulnerable communities, which often go overlooked.

In any work I do, I dedicate myself to designing for inclusion and accessibility. I am driven by the challenge of creating universally usable designs, even when it seems impossible. This passion for inclusive design encourages me to think creatively and question established norms.

Mechanical Engineering

I started my higher education studying to become an engineer, which helped grow my natural problem-solving mentality. I developed myself as a methodical thinker and creator.

Cognitive Science Research

Engineering wasn't enough. It lacked a human element. Through research in Cognitive Science and acquiring a Master, I gained a new understanding of people: how they think, act, and do what they do.

The Blending of Two Worlds

I see user experience design as the perfect intersection of these two paths I've walked. From my experiences, I'm equipped to bring a unique perspective to design that most other designers don't share.

My Interests

I spend my time growing and learning in any way that I can. I love to pursue side projects that push me to try new things and try to incorporate my interests into design. If I'm not working away on some project, I'm reading a book, getting lost in nature, or training for my next race (either triathlon or running).

Some of my other interests include the following:

  • Urban Farming
  • Permaculture
  • Backpacking
  • Volunteering
  • Water activities
  • And trying new things!
